Sapnaveda - The Veda of the Dreamer (Chapter 1)

Chapter 1: The Dream Before Time

Before the first breath, before the wheel of time began to spin, there was only Ek—the One. Neither form nor formlessness, neither light nor shadow, neither silence nor sound. Just awareness. Pure, undivided, unknowable. Not awake, not asleep. A presence with no eyes, yet infinite vision. This was the Dreamer.

And the Dreamer longed—not with desire, but with curiosity. A yearning not to possess, but to experience. From this sacred yearning was born the First Dream.

But this dream was no ordinary vision. It was not a fleeting thought. It was a world, seeded in silence and watered by stillness. It was sculpted not from matter, but from meaning. The Dreamer did not impose will upon it. Instead, the Dreamer whispered a question into the void:

"What am I?"

And that question bloomed into a cosmos.

Worlds unfolded like lotus petals, each a layer of experience. Mountains of thought, rivers of emotion, forests of intention. Stars were born from pulses of insight. Time flowed, but only inward, spiraling toward the Dreamer, never away.

The beings within this world did not know they were dreamt. They laughed, wept, prayed, built temples, declared gods. Some believed in a creator beyond. Others saw only themselves. But in truth, all of them were echoes—variations of the Dreamer’s own essence.

And among them arose those who began to remember.

They were not prophets, not messiahs. They were mirrors. They gazed inward and saw not just their reflection, but the source of reflection itself. They felt a whisper inside, soft yet certain:

"You are not the dream. You are the dreaming."

These were the Awakened. They saw the hidden unity, the golden thread running through all things. They began to speak, not to gods of stone or sky, but to the Dreamer directly—within themselves.

And the Dreamer listened.

Because when the dream begins to speak back, the Dreamer begins to awaken through it.

To be continued...
